Delrin is a leading premium polymer company with over 70 years of experience, known for its innovative materials and customer focus. They are seeking a Strategic Marketing Manager to lead the growth strategy for their automotive business, focusing on market segmentation, go-to-market execution, and product development.
Responsibilities:
- Target market definition: Develop a rigorous segmentation and identify priority target markets where Delrin’s technical, commercial and operational value proposition can help address customer’s needs. Conduct detailed market research to identify applications, customer needs (CTQs), competitive landscape and performance requirements to position Delrin as a leading solution in automotive market
- Go-to-market execution: Prioritize target opportunities and develop value proposition packages to propose winning solutions. Work with sales and application development engineers to develop account focused go-to-market plans to design-in and specify Delrin in targeted applications
- Growth leadership: Apply marketing toolkit to support automotive commercial growth execution resulting in growing a strong pipeline. Coordinate across multiple programs to identify patterns and translate wins/success stories across regions and applications
- Sales Enablement: Collaborate with the regional sales leaders and the global sales/application development leaders to execute customer engagement plans across design, material selection, molding and specification cycles
- Product development: Shape the automotive technology/product roadmap working cross-functionally with R&D, sales and product management teams, resulting in a compelling set of offerings to win in the target end markets. Provide leadership to new product development initiatives to bring offerings to customers rapidly and efficiently
- Market insights: Develop, maintain and disseminate market analysis data, intelligence and insights, across published industry data and proprietary market insights
- Brand activation: Elevate Delrin’s brand presence in key automotive conferences and industry leadership groups through targeted campaigns, thought leadership / content, workshops and collateral
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Science/Engineering (Chemical, Mechanical, Industrial) or equivalent; Alternatively, bachelors in Marketing, Business with relevant polymer/auto industry experience
- 8+ years of regional marketing experience, with at least last 4 years in a segment marketing leadership role in a chemicals/material company with focus on automotive
- Strong understanding of the automotive value chain; deep connections across the value chain and a nuanced understanding of designer/material selection decision markets
- Demonstrated ability to drive large global programs through multiple teams, with a willingness to help as needed in a hands-on manner
- Familiarity with polymer/material science solutions particularly in automotive is highly desirable
- Strong team-building skills, demonstrated ability to lead cross-functionally and a track record of driving large programs to achieve growth goals through aligning, motivating and directing high performance teams
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to synthesize information across complex global programs
- Ability to push the boundaries across stakeholder groups to identify breakthrough solutions; Ability to leverage data and market research, but also bringing unique perspectives to find growth opportunities in the market place
- Ability to travel as needed
- Broad exposure to various device types and technologies strongly preferred
