EXL is seeking a Lead Business Analyst for their Life & Annuities Platforms. This role involves leading requirements discovery, analysis, and documentation for client implementations on the LifePRO platform, while collaborating with various teams to ensure successful outcomes.
Responsibilities:
- Lead requirements elicitation sessions with clients and internal stakeholders to capture business needs, workflows, rules, and functional requirements
- Create clear business requirements, functional specifications, process flows, and supporting documentation for solution delivery
- Partner with business, product, development, and QA teams to translate requirements into effective solution designs and implementation plans
- Facilitate workshops, discovery sessions, and solution discussions to align stakeholders and drive decision-making
- Support test planning, test case development, and validation activities to ensure requirements are implemented accurately
- Analyze requirement changes, assess impacts to scope, risk, and effort, and communicate recommendations to stakeholders
- Identify and help resolve business and system issues by partnering with development, QA, and support teams during delivery and post-implementation
- Serve as a subject matter resource for new business and underwriting processes within LifePRO implementations
- Mentor junior analysts, support best practices, and contribute to continuous improvement across the business analysis function
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in business, finance, information systems, mathematics, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience
- 5+ years of experience in business analysis, including writing business requirements and functional specifications
- Experience working on medium to large-scale technology or business transformation projects
- Strong understanding of requirements management, testing support, stakeholder communication, and solution delivery
- Experience in the life insurance and annuity domain, including new business and underwriting processes
- Hands-on experience with LifePRO or similar policy administration platforms
- Experience facilitating client workshops, process mapping sessions, and cross-functional solution discussions
- Working knowledge of SQL, data analysis, and technical documentation
- Experience with Agile delivery methodologies and supporting distributed or offshore teams
- Strong communication, presentation, and stakeholder management skills, including the ability to influence senior leaders
- Experience mentoring junior team members and driving process improvement initiatives
- Working knowledge of actuarial concepts and insurance product structures is a plus
