Conterra Engineering is a company seeking a Civil Project Manager to lead project design, management, and delivery while mentoring junior staff. The role involves providing technical direction, quality control, and project oversight in a fully remote setting, while managing client communication and project stakeholders.
Responsibilities:
- Lead civil design and project management for land development and renewable energy projects
- Manage project scope, schedule, budgets, client communication, and coordination with agencies and project stakeholders
- Perform grading, drainage, utility, horizontal control, and erosion control design
- Oversee preparation of construction plans, reports, and specifications
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers
- Review designs for quality, constructability, and code compliance
- Use AutoCAD Civil 3D (required) for design oversight, plan review, and production support as needed
- Floodplain and hydraulic modeling experience with HEC-RAS and/or FLO-2D (preferred, not required)
- Participate in site visits and field coordination as needed (limited travel)
- Demonstrated ability to manage projects and make engineering decisions independently, with minimal day-to-day oversight
- Demonstrated ability to independently lead project execution, coordinate agency submittals and responses, and make sound engineering decisions with minimal day-to-day oversight
Requirements:
- 8-10+ years of civil/site design experience
- Advanced proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D is required
- Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills
- Ability to independently manage projects in a remote work environment
- Floodplain and hydraulic modeling experience with HEC-RAS and/or FLO-2D
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related field
- Project management experience, including scope, schedule, budget, and client coordination
- Experience with land development projects in Colorado and renewable energy projects nationwide
