As a Technical Product Leader for Search, you will lead the development and optimization of algorithms that enhance consumer engagement and work closely with engineers to create personalized business recommendations.
Responsibilities:
- Define and execute a product roadmap for Search, aligned with Yelp’s overall business objectives by staying abreast of industry trends and competitive landscape and identifying opportunities for innovation
- Understand consumer needs and pain points, and translate them into product requirements by working closely with UXR and Data Science
- Identify areas for improvement, define & prioritize algorithm development initiatives aligned with business objectives and market trends
- Analyze large datasets to identify trends and opportunities for improvement. Leverage data-driven insights to inform product decisions and optimize algorithm performance
- Lead the development of Search products from conception to launch. Foster a data-driven culture to measure and optimize product performance
- Collaborate with engineering, design, and data science to deliver exceptional products. Lead and mentor a team of data scientists, engineers, and analysts and drive innovation on search algorithms
- Drive consumer engagement and retention through innovative product solutions
Requirements:
- Proven track record and extensive experience in leading technical product development in a fast-paced, data-driven environment, preferably in the Search space
- Strong understanding of machine learning
- Strong analytical skills and ability to translate data into actionable insights
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills to influence stakeholders at all levels
- Strong collaborator who enjoys working across different teams, functions, and timezones
- Advanced degree in Computer Science, Economics, Statistics, or a related field and have experience solving large computational problems
- A Bachelor's Degree or an equivalent work experience is required
