Job Description:
The global Engineering and Technology Innovation team develops and implements cutting-edge technologies that enable the future of aerospace.
We are engineers, technicians, and bold innovators who deploy and maintain engineering and operations product standards used to design and build products across the enterprise.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with tools and Materials Process & Physics teams to refine and enhance a baseline ontology and data model for Process Specifications (from PDF/XML), including:
- Taxonomy development
- Reviewing a wide range of process specifications to evaluate and standardize content, appropriately adjusting refactoring requirements
- Support key use cases such as:
- Expanding the process specifications ontology to identify process parameters
- Enhancing ontology to capture requirements from flag notes, tables, and all document sections
- Partner with tools and IT teams to:
- Develop a robust data model for process specifications
- Define requirements to build or enhance tools for content authoring and management of refactored data
Skills Required:
- Familiarity with engineering data and a basic understanding of the engineering lifecycle, particularly process specifications
- Strong understanding of structured knowledge representations, including conceptual object models and physical data models
- Proficiency in XML (Extensible Markup Language), RDF (Resource Description Framework), and graph databases
- Ability to work in an agile environment with evolving requirements and demonstrate flexibility
- Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to develop innovative solutions in unique scenarios
- Solid understanding of Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) and transitioning from document-based to model-based requirements
