MANTECH seeks a motivated, career and customer-oriented Electrical Engineer to join our team working in Lakehurst, NJ. This is an onsite position.
This role supports critical naval aviation infrastructure by driving the design, development, testing, and lifecycle support of advanced aircraft launch and recovery equipment (EMALS/AAG). You will help ensure high-efficiency aircraft launches and recoveries while delivering vital technical engineering solutions to modern naval aircraft carriers.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Partner with cross-functional engineering groups to design, evaluate, and troubleshoot advanced electrical components and systems for EMALS/AAG.
Assist in generating and updating electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, technical specifications, and comprehensive system documentation.
Lead and support engineering investigations to diagnose system anomalies, execute complex repairs, and deliver technical recommendations for manufactured parts.
Conduct rigorous field testing and validation protocols to ensure all systems adhere to safety, quality, and military performance benchmarks.
Rapidly troubleshoot system issues, author technical procedures, and respond to urgent shipboard service calls, which may occasionally require working outside standard business hours.
Prepare engineering reports for program leadership and participate in the review of engineering change requests, including REIs, waivers, and variances.
Travel up to 25% of the time to remote test sites and operational U.S. Navy vessels to provide direct, on-site technical support.
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a closely related discipline
3+ years of professional experience with some experience with power electronics, electrical control networks, and system diagnostics.
Professional experience with MATLAB or similar data analysis tools.
Must possess a current valid passport
Preferred Qualifications:
Direct prior experience with EMALS, AAG, or legacy aircraft launch and recovery machinery.
Deep familiarity with defense industry standards and military specifications (MIL-STDs).
Ability to interpret source code, such as C# or C++, and interpret complex XML documents.
Clearance Requirements:
Must be a U.S. Citizen and possess an active or current Secret security clearance.
Physical Requirements:
The person in this position must be able to remain in a stationary position 50% of the time.
Occasionally move about inside the office to access file cabinets, office machinery, or to communicate with co-workers, management, and customers, via email, phone, and or virtual communication, which may involve delivering presentations.
Lift or move equipment weighing up to 50 lbs, climb shipboard ladders, and maneuver through tight, confined spaces.
Work in demanding environments, including confined shipboard spaces, manufacturing facilities, and extreme weather conditions
Comfortable working in industrial settings, extreme weather conditions, and wearing mandatory Personal Protective Equipment.
