The Opportunity
A clinical-stage biopharmaceutical company in the DC metro area is executing a complex IT separation program tied to a manufacturing divestiture and facility relocation. The program spans separation of approximately 30 applications, migration and decommission of approximately 40 servers and cloud assets, new facility IT infrastructure buildout, and replacement Finance and QMS system selection.
We are placing one Senior IT Infrastructure PM into this program. The role operates within a structured PMO led by a prime contractor and owns infrastructure-related project execution, workstream coordination, and stakeholder management. This is not a hands-on engineering role and is not the overall program manager seat.
What You Will Do
- Own infrastructure-related workstreams within a multi-stream IT separation program
- Coordinate across client IT teams, the prime PMO, and third-party vendors
- Track milestones, manage dependencies, and escalate risks within the program governance structure
- Contribute to status reporting and RAID log maintenance
- Support application inventory, server separation planning, and new facility buildout coordination
- Attend onsite sessions in Rockville, MD every other week -- travel is covered
Required Qualifications
- 4 to 7 years of IT infrastructure project management experience
- Demonstrated experience on M&A, divestiture, carve-out, or IT separation engagements -- required
- General infrastructure background: servers, cloud platforms, networking, shared data environments
- Ability to operate within a structured PMO and report into an external program manager
- Strong stakeholder communication across technical and business audiences
- Available to start July 1, 2026 and commit through December 31, 2026
- Able to travel to Rockville, MD every other week
Preferred Qualifications
- Life sciences, pharmaceutical, or GxP-regulated environment experience
- Familiarity with 21 CFR Part 11 or Computer System Validation (CSV) frameworks
- Local to Maryland, DC metro, or Northern Virginia
What This Role Is Not
- Not the overall program manager -- a prime contractor PM owns that seat
- Not a hands-on engineering or configuration role
- Not a compliance or validation specialist -- infrastructure PM background is the core requirement
