Confidential Jobs is seeking a visionary and strategic Product Management expert to lead their Early Literacy Product Management team. In this role, you will drive the development of educational solutions that enhance foundational reading skills for young learners, while ensuring alignment with evidence-based literacy practices.
Responsibilities:
- Lead and Develop the Team: Manage, mentor, and inspire a team of product managers focused on early literacy. Cultivate a culture of high performance, continuous learning, and cross-functional collaboration
- Drive Product Vision and Strategy: Define and own the early literacy product roadmap from ideation to launch. Align product strategy with overall business objectives and educational impact goals
- Champion the Science of Reading: Serve as the product organization's subject matter expert on evidence-based literacy instruction (phonemic awareness, phonics, fluency, vocabulary, and comprehension). Ensure all product development is rooted in these principles
- Collaborate Cross-Functionally: Partner deeply with stakeholders to ensure products are both pedagogically sound and technologically innovative
- Understand the Market: Conduct deep market research and user testing with teachers, administrators, and students to identify pain points and opportunities in the early literacy landscape
- Measure Impact: Define key performance indicators (KPIs) for product success, focusing on both growth and educational efficacy
Requirements:
- 7+ years of experience in product management, with at least 3+ years in a leadership/people management role within the EdTech space
- Extensive Knowledge/experience in evidence-based reading and writing pedagogy/practices (Science of Reading) and English Language Development (ELD Standards and ELA/ELD Framework)
- An understanding of the K-12 literacy landscape, with knowledge of key issues impacting elementary and secondary markets
- Demonstrated success collaborating cross-functional teams including Sales, Strategy, Product Development and Product Marketing
- Experience in networking with high-level district administrators and decision-makers
- Knowledge and experience in presentation development with exemplary presentation and communication skills
- A demonstrable, deeply rooted background in the Science of Reading. You know how to translate literacy research into compelling product features
- Proven success in taking complex, educational products from concept to successful market launch
- A collaborative, empathetic, and decisive leadership approach. You excel at creating alignment among diverse stakeholders and translating complex curriculum requirements into clear engineering tickets
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to articulate a clear product vision to both internal teams and external partners
