Diamond Personnel is representing a global law firm seeking a junior to mid-level Patent Prosecution Attorney with a background in mechanical or aerospace engineering. The role involves preparing and prosecuting patent applications, analyzing invention disclosures, and advising clients on patent strategy.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare, draft, and prosecute U.S. and international patent applications
- Analyze invention disclosures and collaborate closely with inventors, engineers, and clients to develop comprehensive patent strategies
- Draft responses to Office Actions issued by the USPTO and foreign patent offices
- Conduct patentability, freedom-to-operate, and landscape analyses
- Manage and maintain domestic and international patent portfolios for clients ranging from startups to established companies
- Advise clients on patent strategy, portfolio development, and intellectual property protection matters
- Support due diligence activities, including patent portfolio reviews and analyses
Requirements:
- 1-5 years of patent prosecution experience
- Have a degree in mechanical engineering, aerospace engineering, electrical engineering, or computer science
- Juris Doctorate from an accredited law school
- USPTO registration is required
- Prior experience as a patent examiner is a plus
- Industry experience is a plus
- Prior experience working with Rocket Engines is a plus
