The Judge Group is seeking Java Engineers with strong multi-threading and concurrency expertise to build a high-performance, real-time trading platform from the ground up. The role involves designing low-latency, event-driven systems where efficient parallel processing and streaming are critical to success.
Responsibilities:
- Build highly concurrent, low-latency Java services using advanced multi-threading techniques
- Design and optimize real-time streaming pipelines with Kafka Streams, including stateful processing and fault-tolerant topologies
- Develop thread-safe, non-blocking systems capable of processing large event volumes in parallel
- Tune performance across threading models, JVM, and streaming workloads
- Partner with engineering teams to define scalable, event-driven architectures
Requirements:
- Strong Java (8+) experience with deep knowledge of:
- Multi-threading, concurrency, and java.util.concurrent
- Thread safety, synchronization, and performance tuning
- Hands-on experience with Kafka Streams:
- Building and scaling stream processing applications
- Managing partitions, state stores, and processing guarantees
- Experience with Apache Kafka or similar messaging systems
- Background in low-latency, high-throughput distributed systems
- Familiarity with Spring Boot, microservices, and cloud environments (AWS, Kubernetes, Docker)
- Experience with Flink or other stream processing frameworks
- Knowledge of lock-free or reactive programming
- JVM tuning and performance profiling experience
