Sr. Software Engineer - Multi-threading

The Judge Group is seeking Java Engineers with strong multi-threading and concurrency expertise to build a high-performance, real-time trading platform from the ground up. The role involves designing low-latency, event-driven systems where efficient parallel processing and streaming are critical to success.

Responsibilities:

• Build highly concurrent, low-latency Java services using advanced multi-threading techniques
• Design and optimize real-time streaming pipelines with Kafka Streams, including stateful processing and fault-tolerant topologies
• Develop thread-safe, non-blocking systems capable of processing large event volumes in parallel
• Tune performance across threading models, JVM, and streaming workloads
• Partner with engineering teams to define scalable, event-driven architectures

Requirements:

• Strong Java (8+) experience with deep knowledge of:
• Multi-threading, concurrency, and java.util.concurrent
• Thread safety, synchronization, and performance tuning
• Hands-on experience with Kafka Streams:
• Building and scaling stream processing applications
• Managing partitions, state stores, and processing guarantees
• Experience with Apache Kafka or similar messaging systems
• Background in low-latency, high-throughput distributed systems
• Familiarity with Spring Boot, microservices, and cloud environments (AWS, Kubernetes, Docker)
• Experience with Flink or other stream processing frameworks
• Knowledge of lock-free or reactive programming
• JVM tuning and performance profiling experience
