About this role
Nearmap is a company that specializes in property intelligence, utilizing aerial imagery and AI-driven analytics. They are seeking a Senior Software Engineer to design and deliver software solutions for their insurance business, focusing on backend services and collaborating closely with product teams.
Responsibilities:
- Design, implement and support microservices and APIs
- Write unit, integration and automated system tests
- Lead designs of major software components and systems
- Manage individual project priorities, deadlines and deliverables
- Contribute to improvement initiatives across the Engineering organization
- Complies with responsibilities of working for a private equity
- Complies with all local legislative requirements
- Adheres to company guidelines and the corporate Code of Conduct
- Where appropriate, keep up to date with legislative requirements
- Acts in an ethical way when dealing with company assets and other people
Requirements:
- 5+ years professional software engineering experience
- C#, NodeJS/JavaScript
- Microservice and API design
- Excellent verbal, written and visual communication skills
- Positive self-starter
- Strong problem-solving skills
- Customer service focus, both internal and external
- Sufficient humility to be wrong, own up and learn from mistakes
- Working with cloud environments (AWS preferred)
- Relational databases (PostgreSQL preferred)
- Messaging systems (RabbitMQ preferred)
