Dice is seeking a Sr. Business Analyst to work with the Texas Education Agency on projects aimed at improving outcomes for Texas students. The role involves performing advanced business analysis, acting as a liaison between stakeholders and the software development team, and managing requirements throughout the software development life cycle.
Responsibilities:
- Analyzes user needs, business processes, pain points, and computer system capabilities to automate or improve existing systems
- Elicits requirements using joint application development (JAD), interviews, document analysis, surveys, use cases, competitive product analysis, and workflow analysis
- Transforms information from elicitation sessions into business and functional requirements, use cases, user stories, software requirements specifications documents, wireframes, and mockups
- Acts as a mentor to peers and colleagues in disseminating best practices and proactively seeks out training opportunities
- Uses TEA tools, such as Jira and Modern Requirements, to manage the change control process, participate in the SDLC, and track and communicate requirements status
Requirements:
- 8 years of Experience with software development life cycles (SDLCs)
- 8 years of Business process re-engineering and software process flow improvement experience
- 8 years of Experience developing user stories and use cases that conform to business analysis best practices
- 8 years of Experience designing mockups and/or wireframes that conform to UX best practices
- 5 years of Demonstrated strong communication and facilitation skills
- 5 years of Demonstrated strong writing and organization skills
- 4 years of Documented experience working for or closely with TEA OR a federal/state/local education agency OR ed vendor
- 2 years of Documented work experience with the issue tracking software 'Atlassian Jira'
- 2 years of Documented work experience with the requirements management software 'Modern Requirements'
- 2 years of Experience with Data Lake technology
