Job description:
As a Cardiology Medical Assistant Extern at
Hawaii Heart Associates, you will play a vital role in supporting our
cardiologists, nurses and nurse practitioners and ensuring the smooth operation
of our cardiology practice. You will work closely with healthcare professionals
and patients to provide high-quality care and assistance in various clinical
and administrative tasks.
Job Duties
:
Patient Care:
- Greet patients and escort them to examination rooms.
- Record patient vital signs and chief complaints as well as reconcile
medications
- Assist cardiologists during patient examinations and procedures.
- Perform electrocardiograms (ECGs) and other diagnostic tests as directed.
Clinical Support:
- Prepare examination rooms and medical equipment for procedures.
- Administer medications and injections under the direction of a cardiologist.
- Assist with stress tests, echocardiograms, and other cardiac procedures.
- Coordinate patient appointments, referrals, and follow-up care.
Administrative Duties:
- Schedule patient appointments and maintain accurate medical records.
- Handle incoming calls, inquiries, and requests from patients and healthcare
providers.
- Verify patient insurance coverage and process billing and insurance claims.
- Manage inventory of medical supplies and equipment and reorder as needed.
