is seeking a
Medical Billing Specialist
to join our growing and dynamic team!
Job Description:

Responsible for all patient phone calls and in-person/clinic interactions related to billing.

Conduct research, resolve and communicate patient billing discrepancies and adjustments.

Work with Member Services to communicate updated insurance demographics and sliding fee documentation and as well as assist front desk staff to help ensure patient demographic, insurance, sliding fee and proof of income (POI) is accurately entered/updated in the system.

Enter Medical Record charges in patient accounts.

Work closely with providers and other clinical staff to ensure accuracy of billing.

Communicate as needed with insurance plans on billing issues and communicate information regarding patient billing activities and issues to the Controller and Finance Team.

Maintain relationships with health plans, healthcare providers, other professionals, coworkers and patients.

Attends and participates in meetings, committees, and training sessions as directed.

Other duties as assigned.
Position Requirements:

Knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel

Ability to use general office equipment (e.g., copier, fax machine)

Familiarity with Hawaii insurance, including managed care plans

Must be able to occasionally push/pull to 100 pounds, lift up to 50 pounds, and carry up to 25 pounds
-
Negative TB clearance within previous 12 months
-
Must be COVID-19 vaccinated
