Meade is a full-service design firm specializing in innovative and cost-effective engineering solutions for data centers, cloud providers, and large-scale construction projects. They are seeking an entry-to-mid-level Electrical Engineer II with strong expertise in Arc Flash and Protective Device Coordination Studies to design electrical systems and perform power system analysis for various high-profile projects.
Responsibilities:
- Responsible for designing electrical systems and performing detailed design calculations, with a focus on power system analysis
- Lead and perform Arc Flash Hazard Analysis, Short Circuit Studies, and Protective Device Coordination using industry-standard software (e.g., SKM, ETAP, EasyPower)
- Review, signing, and sealing of projects in compliance with applicable codes and standards
- Conduct site visits for data collection, validation of as-built conditions, and client coordination related to Arc Flash labeling and electrical safety compliance
- Review submittals, RFIs, change orders; prepare record drawings; participate in inspections and commissioning work
- Write and edit specifications for electrical equipment and systems, including overcurrent protective devices, switchgear, and transformers
- Ensure jobs are completed accurately, within deadlines, and on budget
- Assist in developing internal standards and templates for electrical safety analysis deliverables
Requirements:
- 2+ years of Professional Electrical Engineering design experience in the construction or power systems industry
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering
- Proven experience in designing power systems, including for data centers, commercial offices, manufacturing, or medical facilities
- Demonstrated experience with Arc Flash Studies, Protective Device Coordination, and Short Circuit Analysis
- Working knowledge of NFPA 70 (NEC), NFPA 70E, and IEEE 1584 standards
- Experience working independently, managing priorities, and mentoring junior staff
- Strong understanding of National and International Building Codes
- Ability to think strategically and demonstrate flexibility in achieving long-term objectives
- Self-motivated, comfortable with ambiguity, and team-oriented
- Excellent organizational, written, and verbal communication skills
- Proficiency with MS Office, AutoCAD, BlueBeam, BIM, Revit, and power system analysis software (e.g., SKM, ETAP, EasyPower)
- Engineering in Training (EIT) certification preferred
- Familiarity with Medium Voltage equipment selection and specifications is preferred
