CuraLinc Healthcare is seeking an experienced Senior Business Analyst to run a centralized analytics function built on Microsoft Fabric. The role involves translating business questions into data requirements, managing reporting processes, and collaborating with BI developers and data engineers to enhance the data lake environment.
Responsibilities:
- Own the Reporting Intake Function: Triaging Ad Hoc Requests from Internal Stakeholders, Setting Prioritization and Turnaround Expectations, and Shaping How Intake Works as the Team Grows
- Translate Business Questions and Stakeholder Needs into Well-Defined Data Requirements Before Work Begins
- Produce and Maintain Standard Recurring Reports Using Existing BI Infrastructure, Ensuring Accuracy and Consistency Across Deliverables
- Validate Outputs Independently Before Delivery, Identifying and Resolving Data Anomalies without Escalation
- Monitor Assigned Data Quality Processes on a Recurring Basis, Flagging Issues and Coordinating Resolution with Relevant Data Owners
- Maintain a Running Log of Metric Definitions and Open Data Issues, Tracking Metrics that Need Revision, Unresolved Definitional Questions, and the Decisions that Resolve them, so the Team has a Single Source of Truth as the Lake is Built Out
- Document Report Logic and Maintain Version History to Ensure Reproducibility
- Build and Maintain an Inventory of Source Transactional Systems and their Data Elements, Documenting what Data Exists, what is Currently Ingested into the Lake, and What is a Candidate for Future Ingestion
- Capture and Document Business Definitions, Metric Logic, and Source Data Requirements that Support the Ongoing Development of our Data Lake and Semantic Models, Partnering with BI Developers and Data Engineers so the Semantic Layer Reflects Agreed-Upon Business Rules
- Partner with the Analytics Lead to Identify Opportunities to Reduce Manual Reporting Effort and Improve Delivery Processes
- Help Level Up a More Junior Analyst, Reviewing their Work, Sharing Approaches, and Raising the Team’s Overall Quality Bar
Requirements:
- 5+ Years in a Business Analyst or Related Role, with a Focus on Translating Stakeholder Needs into Data Deliverables
- Strong Excel Skills, Including Experience with Power Query, Data Connected to External Models or Structured Sources
- Working SQL Proficiency, Able to Write Queries to Extract, Join, and Validate Data Across Source Systems
- Ability to Manage Multiple Concurrent Requests with Varying Complexity and Deadlines without Close Supervision
- Clear Written and Verbal Communication, Able to Clarify Vague Requests, Set Expectations, and Summarize Findings for Non-Technical Audiences
- Strong Documentation Habits, Able to Capture Business Definitions, Metric Logic, and Data Requirements in a Clear, Structured, Reusable Form (Data Dictionaries, Metric Catalogs, or Requirements Specifications)
- Personal Standard for QA: You Validate your Own Work Before Delivery
- A Track Record of Bringing Structure to Ambiguity, you've Stood Up an Intake Process, Data Dictionary, or Definition Governance from Scratch, Not Just Worked within One
- Comfortable Setting your Own Priorities without Close Direction, and Experienced Reviewing or Mentoring Other Analysts' Work
- Experience in EAP, Behavioral Health, or Employee Benefits
- Experience Working in Microsoft Fabric and with Lakehouse-Based Reporting Environments
- IIBA Certifications such as CBAP or ECBA are a Strong Plus for this Role
- Advanced SQL, able to Develop Complex Queries
- Advanced Power BI Proficiency, Building and Maintaining Reports and Measures, and Working Confidently with Model Relationships
- Experience Building and Scaling a Formal Reporting Intake or Request Management Process
- Familiarity with Semantic Modeling Concepts, Measures, Relationships, and Reusable Metric Definitions, and How Clear Documentation Supports Semantic-Layer and Data Lake Development
