Senior Planning Engineer

Lumen Technologies is the trusted network for AI, transforming how businesses connect and scale in an AI-driven world. They are seeking a Senior Planning Engineer to focus on Expansion/Market Planning, developing solutions to improve network efficiencies and drive revenue growth.

Responsibilities:

• Partner with the Account Team and Solutions Engineers to develop efficient architecture solutions for new customer deals and network expense recovery
• Develop collaborative planning solutions to aid in the long-term growth of the company from a network advancement and revenue perspective
• Improve network efficiencies by addressing latency, owned vs leased assets, and deployment of new technology
• Drive revenue growth by identifying new near net assets in high revenue growth areas and expansion markets
• Create detailed plans providing service delivery solutions to customer or data center locations, including physical and network layer plans, maps, diagrams, and cost estimates
• Provide support through the implementation stages by performing capital budget/variance management and network design reviews

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent education and 6+ years of relevant experience
• 4+ years of related experience with a Master's degree
• Strong Microsoft Excel skills for data analysis and reporting with demonstrated proficiency in VLOOKUPs and pivot tables
• Proficiency in utilizing internal mapping tools for map-based design tasks
• Effective collaboration and communication skills with ability to delegate to internal project stakeholders and third-party vendor partners
• Experience with and foundational understanding of internal mapping tools like ArcGIS or comparable for designing within detailed maps and diagrams to depict design plan initiatives
• Project Management or Lean Six Sigma certification or demonstrated experience driving process improvement utilizing such methodologies
