University Enterprises, Inc. is seeking a student assistant for the California Energy Commission. The role involves assisting in various technical analyses related to power generation plants and environmental impact.
Responsibilities:
- The Engineering Branch Student Assistant helps in providing analysis in technical areas such as:
- Air quality
- Greenhouse gas
- Public health
- Noise and vibration
- Facility design
- Power facility efficiency
- Power facility reliability
- Hazards and hazardous materials
- Worker safety and fire protection
- Transmission system engineering
- Transmission line safety and nuisance
- Generating capacity determinations
Requirements:
- Must be a college student attending classes during the regular term (Fall, Spring and Winter, if applicable), at one of the accredited colleges or universities on our affiliation list
- Students must be enrolled in at least: six-semester units or nine quarter units for undergraduate students; four-semester units or six quarter units for graduate students
- Students declared major must match the major(s) listed in the job posting
- Students must be in good standing and have a minimum 2.0 GPA or above
- Ability to communicate effectively (verbally and in writing)
- Excellent customer service skills
- Excellent organizational skills
- Ability to establish and maintain good work
- Sit for extended periods; frequently stand and walk; manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination; corrected hearing and vision to normal range; verbal communication; use of office equipment including computer workstations, telephones, calculators, copiers, printers, and scanners with or without reasonable accommodation
- Must reside in California and all work must be performed in the state of California throughout the course of employment
