The Project Manager II independently manages moderately complex projects or key workstreams within larger initiatives in the automation and logistics industry. This role requires prior project management experience, with increasing independence in planning, execution, and delivery of projects. The PM II collaborates across functions, coordinates schedules and resources, and ensures that deliverables are achieved on time and within budget, while escalating higher-level issues to senior project leadership.
Responsibilities and Duties:

Develop and oversee project schedules, budgets, and supporting documentation, ensuring accuracy and alignment with business goals.

Manage small- to mid-sized projects independently, and lead specific workstreams within larger, complex projects.

Coordinate activities across engineering, operations, vendors, and clients to drive progress and resolve conflicts.

Track project milestones, risks, and issues; recommend and implement corrective actions as appropriate.

Provide regular status updates and presentations to stakeholders, highlighting key decisions, risks, and progress.
Collaborate with finance teams to track project costs, forecasts, and variances against budget.
Facilitate risk assessments and contribute to mitigation strategies across multiple projects.
Support field activities including installations, testing, and commissioning; identify gaps and escalate recommendations.
Mentor or provide guidance to junior project coordinators or PM I team members.
Ensure adherence to quality, compliance, and safety standards throughout the project lifecycle.
Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business, or related field (or equivalent experience).

2-4 years of project management experience, preferably in engineering, automation, logistics, or related industries.

3-5 years in an engineering or business role with increasing project responsibilities.
Demonstrated ability to manage projects or workstreams with increasing independence.
Proficiency in Microsoft Project and Microsoft Office Suite; familiarity with project management tools (e.g., SharePoint, Project Online, or similar).
Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with ability to interact across functions and with external partners.
Preferred/Desirable Skills:
Exposure to automation, logistics, robotics, or related technical fields.
Familiarity with technical drawings and engineering documentation.
Ability to contribute to problem-solving discussions under guidance.
Interest in building project management expertise and pursuing PMP or similar certification over time.
