The Engineering Manager, Servicing & Collections will lead a team responsible for systems that enhance borrower repayment and collections, partnering with various departments to improve operational efficiency and customer experience.
Responsibilities:
- Lead a team building the systems that power repayment, payments, and collections--directly impacting borrower experience and business performance
- Own end-to-end delivery of high-impact initiatives, improving repayment rates, reducing delinquency, and driving operational efficiency
- Evolve the servicing platform alongside senior engineers, simplifying architecture and scaling toward modular, reliable, and observable systems
- Partner closely with Product, Risk, Operations, and Compliance to build smarter collections capabilities and high-quality self-service experiences
- Ensure reliability of mission-critical systems, with a focus on uptime, data integrity, and incident readiness
- Leverage AI to accelerate engineering and product velocity, while applying strong judgment in regulated environments
- Mentor engineers and raise the technical bar, staying close to the code and unblocking teams when it matters most
Requirements:
- 7+ years of software engineering experience, including 3+ years leading teams
- Strong full-stack foundation with the ability to dive into code, debug, and guide architectural decisions
- Experience building or operating high-stakes systems (e.g., payments, servicing, billing) with a focus on reliability and data integrity
- Proven track record of scaling systems and teams in fast-paced, ambiguous environments
- Clear communicator who can align technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Passion for mentoring and developing engineers
- Hands-on experience applying AI to improve workflows or operational efficiency
