Raymond is a progressive architecture and engineering consulting firm with over 30 years of experience. They are seeking a motivated Mechanical Engineer to support the design and delivery of mechanical and plumbing systems for architectural building projects, collaborating closely with senior engineers and project managers.
Responsibilities:
- Assist with mechanical and plumbing system design for building projects, including HVAC, hydronic, plumbing, and building automation systems
- Perform engineering calculations, analysis, and equipment selection in support of project design
- Develop and edit technical specifications and construction documents
- Create and modify design drawings using AutoCAD and Revit
- Support senior engineers with research, design development, and client coordination
- Participate in construction observations and prepare technical field reports
- Communicate effectively with architects, engineers, regulatory agencies, and other project stakeholders
- Assist with project fee development and support small project team coordination
- Maintain accurate documentation of calculations, drawings, field observations, and client communications
- Contribute to technical quality reviews and constructability reviews to ensure compliance with codes and standards
- Support ongoing professional development, training, and licensure requirements
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering from an ABET/EAC-accredited program (or approved equivalent)
- 8+ years of relevant experience with a four-year ABET-accredited bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering (experience requirements may vary based on degree path and education)
- Passed the FE exam administered by NCEES
- Professional Engineer (PE) licensure in the United States or ability to obtain licensure
- Experience with AutoCAD, Revit, and Microsoft Office Suite
- Familiarity with HVAC, plumbing, and building mechanical systems
- Ability to learn or apply UFC, DoD, and VA design criteria
- Strong communication, problem-solving, and time-management skills
- Ability to train and support junior staff
- Ability to travel and attend local client or company meetings
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and safely perform site visits
- Must be authorized to work in the United States
- Pre-employment drug test, background check, and valid driver's license required
