Elevate Consulting Engineers PLLC is a growing full-service Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing, and Fire Protection consulting engineering firm focused on delivering top-tier expertise and service to clients. The Senior Mechanical Engineer will lead the design and analysis of mechanical systems for MEPFP projects, ensuring compliance and coordination with client requirements.
Responsibilities:
- Lead the design and analysis of mechanical systems for MEPFP projects
- Ensuring code compliance, project coordination, and client requirements are met
- Site visits
- Client meetings
- Developing mechanical design concepts
- Delegating work to the design team members
- Guiding the projects through all phases
- Reviewing drawings
- Coordinating with electrical, plumbing, and fire protection disciplines
- Managing project timelines and deliverables
- Communicating with clients and internal stakeholders
- Providing technical guidance and mentorship to junior team members
- Supporting research and development efforts to improve design standards and implement best practices
Requirements:
- Candidate should reside in the greater Chicagoland area and be able to travel to project sites locally as well as out of state. Frequency of local travel is approximately 30%, while out of state travel is approximately 10% or less
- Strong foundation in Mechanical Engineering, with experience in a variety of building types
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to work effectively in a remote, collaborative environment. Attention to detail and organizational skills are required
- Demonstrated Project Management skills, including planning, scheduling, budget awareness, and cross-disciplinary coordination
- Experience in MEPFP consulting or building design projects, with knowledge of relevant codes and standards
- Experience with Computer-Aided Design (CAD) tools for creating, reviewing, and coordinating MEP drawings
- Should be able to climb ladders and effectively perform building surveys for MEP items
- Bachelor's degree or higher in Mechanical Engineering or a closely related field
- Self-directed, organized, and capable of managing multiple projects and deadlines
- professional licensure (PE) is preferred
