SmartyAds is expanding its Google MCM business and looking for an experienced Publisher BD Manager to drive publisher acquisition and growth. The role is key in identifying, pitching, and onboarding quality publishers, focusing on in-app and CTV inventory to ensure their success within the SmartyAds MCM ecosystem.
Responsibilities:
- Identify, pitch, and onboard publishers to the SmartyAds MCM account, ensuring a smooth and technically sound integration process from contract to first impression
- Focus on acquiring in-app and CTV publishers as primary inventory targets, while also developing relationships across web, news, gaming, entertainment, and finance verticals
- Guide publishers through the Google Ad Manager delegated account setup, policy compliance requirements, and initial inventory configuration
- Build and maintain strong long-term relationships with publishers, with a focus on inventory monetization, yield optimisation, and fill rate improvement
- Develop and execute outbound strategies to grow the publisher base — cold outreach, industry events, partner referrals, and inbound qualification
- Monitor publisher performance post-onboarding and proactively identify opportunities for inventory growth or issue resolution in cooperation with Publisher Relations Manager
- Collaborate with Tech team to resolve integration issues and ensure publishers are set up for success
- Stay current on Google MCM policy updates, AdX eligibility requirements, and programmatic market trends relevant to publisher monetization
- Report on pipeline progress, onboarding metrics, and publisher revenue contribution to leadership
Requirements:
- 3+ years of experience in business development, publisher acquisition, or partnerships within the AdTech ecosystem
- 1+ years of hands-on experience working with Google MCM (Multiple Customer Management) — including delegated account setup, publisher onboarding, and policy compliance
- Strong working knowledge of Google Ad Manager (GAM) — ad unit configuration, inventory types, targeting, and reporting
- Proven track record of independently acquiring and growing relationships with mid-to-large publishers
- Deep understanding of programmatic monetization: CPM dynamics, floor pricing, deals and SSP/AdX relationships
- Existing network of digital publishers (web, app, or CTV) that can be leveraged immediately
- Familiarity with Google AdX eligibility requirements and publisher policy enforcement
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills — able to present technical monetization solutions to non-technical publisher stakeholders
- Self-starter with the ability to manage a pipeline independently and hit acquisition targets with minimal supervision
- Experience specifically with in-app (SDK or S2S) and CTV publisher integrations
- Familiarity with yield optimisation tools (Prebid, open bidding, mediation platforms)
- Knowledge of global and regional AdTech market trends, particularly in markets where SmartyAds operates
- Experience with outreach and CRM tools (HubSpot, Apollo, LinkedIn Sales Navigator)
- Understanding of privacy compliance requirements affecting publisher monetization (GDPR, COPPA, TCF)
