Promotive is a company that helps automotive businesses hire great people through AI-enabled recruiting products. They are seeking a Product Manager for AI & Automation to drive product discovery, shape product experiences, and manage product operations while working closely with leadership, customers, and engineering teams.
Responsibilities:
- Meet with customers, internal teams, and leadership to understand recruiting workflows, customer pain, candidate experience gaps, and product opportunities
- Help identify ideas that can create value for both Promotive’s internal recruiting business and our software customers
- Translate ambiguous business problems into clear product opportunities
- Participate in customer interviews, feedback sessions, prototype reviews, strategic demos, and product discovery conversations
- Use AI tools to quickly explore product ideas, workflows, mockups, prompts, agents, demos, and lightweight prototypes
- Help us think beyond traditional software patterns and explore how AI assistants, agents, automation, and better data can change the recruiting experience
- Bring strong product experience judgment to customer-facing, candidate-facing, and internal product workflows
- Create artifacts that help the team evaluate ideas before engineering commits to building them
- Turn promising opportunities into clear product decisions, appropriately scoped increments, and measurable outcomes
- Maintain enough backlog and roadmap clarity for leadership, product engineering, and the broader team to understand priorities, commitments, tradeoffs, and progress
- Use AI and automation to reduce manual product operations work and keep documentation, decisions, and planning artifacts current without creating unnecessary process
- Surface blockers, dependencies, and decisions early so the team can move quickly and stay aligned
- Help define how we package, release, communicate, and measure new product capabilities
- Create or support internal enablement materials, demo scripts, release notes, training content, and customer-facing product narratives
- Equip customer-facing teams to understand what changed, why it matters, how to use it, and how to discuss it with customers
- Help define and track product success signals across adoption, customer value, candidate experience, recruiting outcomes, AI workflow quality, and retention
Requirements:
- Want to have a direct impact on customers and support the automotive industry
- Have strong product judgment and curiosity about how software creates business value
- Are highly fluent with AI tools or are actively becoming AI-native
- Can turn ambiguous ideas into prototypes, mockups, product briefs, workflows, or backlog-ready increments
- Have good product experience and design intuition, even if you are not a dedicated UX designer
- Are comfortable working with customers, executives, operators, and engineers
- Care about both customer experience and operational execution
- Can organize messy inputs into a clear backlog, roadmap, or decision framework
- Are data-informed and curious about how to measure product value
- Have a strong bias for action and experimentation
- Can move quickly while bringing people along
- Are comfortable working in a small company where roles are broad and priorities evolve
- Experience in any of the following areas is helpful, but not required across the board: Product management, product design, product operations, product strategy, or product prototyping
- AI-assisted product development, prompt workflows, AI agents, no-code or low-code tools, or coding agents
- Figma, GitHub, ClickUp, Linear, Jira, Notion, ChatGPT, Claude, Replit, Lovable, Cursor, VS Code, or similar tools
- Customer discovery, user research, or prototype testing
- B2B SaaS, SMB software, marketplace products, HR tech, recruiting, staffing, or workflow automation
- Data analysis, SQL, BI tools, dashboards, or product analytics
- CRM or ATS systems such as HubSpot or Crelate
- Release notes, product enablement, demo materials, or internal training
