The role involves design leadership and development of various transportation projects, primarily focusing on managing engineering plans and specifications for state and local agencies.
Responsibilities:
- Manage/Complete engineering plans and specifications production using IDOT Standards
- Manage/Complete IDOT or Local Agency Federal Aid Phase I and II projects for a variety of clients
- Lead a variety of projects and study types including roadway, underground utility, drainage, traffic, and infrastructure improvements
- Complete general civil engineering services for municipal, county and state clients
- Assist with business development and client management opportunities for transportation and infrastructure projects is preferred but not required
- Help prepare project-specific proposals, contract preparation, and teaming arrangements, and participate in project interviews
Requirements:
- B.S. degree in Civil Engineering
- Licensed Professional Engineer
- 5+ years' experience completing IDOT or Local Agency Phase II bid documents
- Ability to travel throughout Baxter & Woodman's Illinois service areas (own transportation) and attend client and in office meetings as required
- Ability to independently handle a variety of ongoing tasks and responsibilities
- Strong written, verbal, computer and organizational skills

- Experience managing IDOT or Local Agency Phase I and II projects
- Assistance with business development and client management opportunities for transportation and infrastructure projects
- Microstation/Open Roads Designer capabilities with an understanding of IDOT workflow
