Flashlight Learning is a young company focused on accelerating English language development for students. They are seeking a Senior Product Manager to lead discovery efforts, manage prioritization, and drive product areas from problem to measurable outcome while collaborating closely with various teams.
Responsibilities:
- Plan and lead discovery efforts, validating hypotheses with triangulated data sources
- Balance problem and solution ideation, informed by customer feedback and company objectives and strategy
- Manage prioritization across multiple streams, incorporating user, market, and business insights into plans
- Adopt an experimental, iterative approach (Product Kata) to guide the team toward the highest-value work
- Design experiments and triangulate data sources for ongoing product refinement; use data to track product impact
- Lead go-to-market strategy and execution, ensure internal teams are trained and equipped, and orchestrate incremental releases and customer feedback loops
- Navigate complexity and keep cross-functional teams aligned on outcomes and scope, orchestrating clear lines of communication
- Lead the collaborative design and development process, resolve friction with context and empathy, and exert lateral influence by speaking the engineer's language effectively
- Coach others in lean thinking; advocate for speed, experimentation, and outcome focus
- Own complex systems or flows, driving toward outcomes tied to company goals and strategy
- Represent the voice of the customer at scale, balancing user and business needs
- Serve as a role model for collaboration, coaching others in healthy team dynamics
- Communicate complex ideas clearly across the org, bringing clarity to ambiguity
- Coach peers and influence cross-functional planning and team development
Requirements:
- Track record owning end-to-end delivery for complex product areas, from discovery through launch and measurement
- Experience running structured discovery and validating hypotheses with multiple, triangulated data sources
- Comfort managing prioritization across several concurrent work streams, not just a single roadmap lane
- Experience leading go-to-market planning, including internal enablement and phased/incremental rollout
- Strong cross-functional influence: able to align Engineering, Curriculum, Scoring, Customer Success, and Leadership without formal authority
- Demonstrated ability to coach or mentor other PMs
- Years of experience: 5+ years of Product Management experience
- Experience in K-12, EdTech, or working with school districts is a plus but not required
- Familiarity with lean/experimental product development methods (e.g., Product Kata)
- Experience building or scaling analytics practices to track product impact
- A passion for education and a desire to contribute to better student and teacher outcomes
