Data Governance Platform Engineer

Compunnel Inc. is seeking a Data Governance Platform Engineer. The role involves hands-on experience with data governance tools and requires strong knowledge of data management and the insurance industry.

Responsibilities:

• Hands-on Atlan/Collibra/Alation experience - Any of these
• Data management foundations
• APIs and scripting — comfortable with a platform's REST API/SDK and automation
• Python Scripting
• Insurance industry domain knowledge and experience

Requirements:

• 10+ years of experience is required
• Hands-on Atlan experience (or a comparable platform such as Collibra/Alation) across cataloguing, glossary, lineage, classifications and workflows
• Practical experience with catalogue connectors and integrations across modern data stacks
• Solid data management foundations — metadata, lineage, reference/master data, stewardship, data contracts
• Insurance industry domain knowledge and experience, with the ability to translate core insurance concepts into catalogue structure
• Clear communicator who can drive metadata quality and adoption with technical and business stakeholders
• Experience integrating data platforms with AI/LLM tooling, and familiarity with MCP or comparable agent-integration frameworks
• Hands-on use of AI tools such as Claude to build skills, agents and automations
• Experience building data products; SQL fluency; familiarity with cloud data platforms (e.g. Snowflake) and dbt
• Familiarity with insurance data standards (e.g. ACORD) and relevant regulatory/reporting requirements
