Business Analyst

Trajectory Recruiting is looking for a proactive, detail-oriented Business Intelligence / Data Analyst to join their team. This role focuses on evaluating, refining, and modernizing the reporting landscape by analyzing legacy reporting assets and partnering with stakeholders to define a future-state data experience.

Responsibilities:

• Perform rigorous data validation and reconciliation to identify, investigate, and resolve data variances, ensuring complete reporting accuracy
• Audit existing spreadsheets, legacy reports, and data assets to provide strategic recommendations for consolidation, modernization, or retirement
• Map and document current-state business rules, data flows, process logic, and reporting dependencies to build clear blueprints for future systems
• Lead requirements-gathering sessions across business and tech teams, effectively bridging the gap between business needs and technical execution
• Partner with cross-functional leadership to define and build scalable, user-friendly future-state reporting and data environments

Requirements:

• Advanced SQL skills and expert-level Excel capabilities
• Hands-on experience with modern data platforms (e.g., Snowflake, Databricks) and BI tools (Power BI, Tableau, Looker)
• Proven track record in data quality management, variance analysis, and documenting end-to-end data pipelines
• Strong facilitation and documentation skills with a demonstrated ability to translate complex business needs into technical specifications
• 3+ years of experience in a Data Analyst, BI Analyst, or Data Business Analyst role focused on reporting infrastructure and validation
• Domain experience in investment holdings, portfolio reporting, or investment operations
