Software Engineer II, Developer Platform

Etsy is the global marketplace for unique and creative goods, and they are seeking a Software Engineer II for their Developer Platform team. The role involves building infrastructure and tooling to improve development workflows, enabling other engineers to write, test, and ship code more effectively.

Responsibilities:

• Stand-ups, sprint planning, and retros along with other agile ceremonies
• On-call rotations and Slack support for our engineering "customers"
• Pull request reviews and discussions with a focus on quality software engineering practices
• Writing and updating documentation with clear protocols for other engineers to follow
• Collaborating with engineers across teams to solve shared problems

Requirements:

• Curiosity and a desire to keep learning, including picking up new frameworks and technologies as problems demand
• Ability to work collaboratively and take direction well while building toward greater independence over time
• Care about shipping complete, well-tested work, not just getting features across the finish line
• Organized and attentive to detail, with an appreciation for tests and documentation
• Some exposure to infrastructure-as-code (Terraform, Chef, or similar) or willingness to learn
• Familiarity with CI/CD concepts, non-production environments, and software development lifecycle workflows
