K&K Global Talent Solutions INC. is seeking an experienced Security Engineer to design and deliver secure, scalable solutions for mission-critical environments. This highly technical role involves owning complex security initiatives and requires expertise in cloud security, infrastructure, distributed systems, and security compliance.
Responsibilities:
- Analyze complex security challenges and design scalable technical solutions with minimal oversight
- Own security engineering projects from design and development through testing, deployment, and production support
- Develop production code, reusable assets, automation, reference implementations, and security best practices
- Design and drive long-term security strategies, technical roadmaps, and architecture standards
- Perform security assessments, design reviews, risk analysis, and threat modeling
- Evaluate security risks and contribute to security policies, controls, and technical standards
- Collaborate with engineering and customer stakeholders to deliver secure cloud and infrastructure solutions
- Implement automated deployment and security practices using CI/CD, GitOps, Infrastructure as Code, and related technologies
Requirements:
- Active U.S. Government TS/SCI security clearance; CI or Full Scope Polygraph may be required based on the engagement
- 5+ years of experience with large-scale systems architecture, distributed systems, and infrastructure deployment
- Strong experience with Linux/OS administration, networking, IAM, and Kubernetes
- 2+ years of hands-on experience in security engineering, network security, and security protocols
- 5+ years of coding experience in one or more general-purpose programming languages
- Experience securing environments across GCP, AWS, and/or Azure
- Hands-on experience with Terraform, Ansible, or similar Infrastructure as Code/automation tools
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience
- Ability to travel up to 25% domestically
- Security architecture, assessments, design reviews, and threat modeling
- Cloud-native and open-source security technologies
- CI/CD and GitOps-based automated deployment models
- Incident response and security engineering
- Compliance frameworks including NIST 800-53, NIST 800-171, ISO, and similar standards
- Strong stakeholder communication and ability to influence security architecture and risk decisions
