Enercon Services, Inc. is at the forefront of the energy transition, tackling real-world challenges as the grid evolves. They are seeking a Substation Designer – Protection & Controls to design substation protection drawings, collaborate with engineers, and provide on-site technical support.
Responsibilities:
- Develop electric substation drawings, including schematics, wiring diagrams, control panel layouts, and control building layouts
- Perform substation design calculations and analysis such as voltage drop and conduit fill
- Work closely with peers to ensure accurate and on-time delivery of electrical design that meets client and industry standards, specifications, and good engineering practices
- Providing on-site technical support for select ENERCON clients during construction and commissioning as required
Requirements:
- High School Diploma or GED required
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in Substation designing, with a primary focus on executing protection and control projects
- Familiarity with relay protection schemes
- Experience with MicroStation and AutoCAD
- Willingness to enter energized electric substations with proper training and PPE
- Must be self-driven in time management to meet deadlines and provide accurate deliverables, with the ability to communicate effectively with both internal and external stakeholders
- Must be proficient with typical office software including Microsoft Windows and Office suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Willingness to travel for client site visits and project meetings
- Experience working in electric utility industry, preferably in fast-paced consulting environment
- 500kV substation design experience
