Key Responsibilities:
Review and assess the existing PeopleSoft data model and modeling progress in Snowflake.
Identify modeling gaps, data-quality concerns, architectural risks, and improvement opportunities.
Design or refine scalable data marts using facts, dimensions, relationships, hierarchies, keys, and appropriate data grain.
Develop conceptual, logical, and physical data models supporting HCM, FSCM, and ELM analytics.
Recommend a target-state architecture optimized for Snowflake and future Power BI reporting.
Document data models, business definitions, source-to-target mappings, risks, dependencies, and implementation recommendations.
Collaborate with Controller's Office, DataSF, technical, and business stakeholders to validate proposed model.
Provide architectural guidance for the future citywide data-security model.
If authorized, assist with initial Snowflake data-engineering and transformation activities.
Required Qualifications and Experience
Strong hands-on experience (preferably 8+ years) designing enterprise analytical data models and data marts.
Strong Snowflake data-modeling, data-architecture, and SQL experience (5+ years).
Advanced dimensional-modeling expertise (5+ years), including facts, dimensions, star schemas, grain, keys, hierarchies, relationships, and historical data.
Demonstrated experience (3+ years) assessing existing or partially completed data models and recommending scalable target-state designs.
Experience (3+ years) developing conceptual, logical, and physical data models, data dictionaries, and source-to-target mappings.
Strong understanding (5+ years) of data warehousing, semantic modeling, data lineage, data quality, and performance considerations.
Ability (5+ years) to translate complex business and reporting requirements into implementable technical designs.
