Mechanical Engineer (Engineer Mechanical 1)

HII's Mission Technologies division is seeking a skilled and motivated Mechanical Engineer to support the Defense Logistics Agency's R&D Programs. The role involves providing technical expertise in planning, oversight, execution, and evaluation of complex technical solutions related to mechanical systems.

Responsibilities:

• Researches, plans, designs, verifies, and validates mechanical and/or electromechanical products and systems, such as metals, instruments, controls, plastics, robots, engines, machines and mechanical, resonance, hydraulic or heat transfer systems for production, transmission, measurement, and use of energy
• Researches, plans, designs, verifies, and validates materials technologies; data and information systems and processes; and manufacturing technologies and methods
• Recommends various technology options or approaches for system, processes, facility or program improvements in terms of safety, performance, efficiency or costs. May be responsible for assisting with the transfer from R&D to manufacturing
• Frequent use and application of technical standards, principles, theories, concepts, and techniques

Requirements:

• 0 years experience with Bachelors in related field
• Clearance: Must be able to obtain and maintain a SECRET government security clearance
• Proficient with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Teams, Outlook)
• Excellent customer and organizational level communication, presentation and interpersonal skills
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Adequate visual acuity and manual dexterity for meeting the requirements of the discipline
• 2 years experience with Bachelors in related field or 0 years experience with Masters in related field
• Experience supporting multiple projects/priorities preferred
