Cyber Security Engineer

Paragon Cyber Solutions is seeking a highly skilled and mission-driven Cyber Security Engineer to join our team in support of a critical defense program. The Cybersecurity Engineer II will support the implementation, monitoring, and enhancement of enterprise cybersecurity controls, contributing to security operations, threat detection, vulnerability management, and compliance initiatives.

Responsibilities:

• Implement and maintain cybersecurity controls across enterprise environments
• Support SIEM, EDR, IDS/IPS, and firewall technologies
• Participate in vulnerability management and remediation initiatives
• Conduct security monitoring, analysis, and incident response support
• Assist with threat modeling and risk assessments
• Maintain secure system configurations and security baselines
• Support compliance activities aligned with NIST, CIS, and organizational policies
• Investigate security alerts and assist with threat hunting activities
• Participate in security tool deployment and optimization projects
• Create technical documentation and operational procedures

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, Information Technology, Computer Science or related field; or equivalent combination of education and experience
• 2 to 4 years of cybersecurity engineering experience
• Experience supporting security operations and implementing security controls
• Familiarity with: SIEM platforms, IDS/IPS technologies, EDR solutions, Firewall platforms
• Understanding of: Threat modeling, Vulnerability management, Secure configuration baselines
• Knowledge of: NIST Cybersecurity Framework, CIS Controls, Security compliance frameworks
• Security certifications such as: Security+, CISSP, Similar industry-recognized certifications
• Experience with: CrowdStrike Falcon, Microsoft Defender for Endpoint, Splunk Enterprise Security
