Business Intelligence Reporting Analyst (Power BI)

Mutual of Omaha Mortgage is a mortgage company whose Business Intelligence & Analytics team provides leaders with reliable, actionable data to manage the business and drive growth. The Business Intelligence Reporting Analyst will develop and maintain Power BI dashboards and reports, monitor data quality, support semantic models, and provide reporting insights across sales, HR, and Finance.

Responsibilities:

• Build effective and efficient reports and dashboards using best practices in data presentation and design language
• Migrate existing reporting inventory to a centralized semantic model
• Automate/streamline manual processes
• Monitor reports for data discrepancies and issues through use of Power BI and SQL
• Address, diagnose, and resolve reporting issues identified by business partners
• Leverage Valtrune to complete full data and report validation
• Propose changes and enhancements to established semantic models to support new reporting, or improve existing reporting
• Implement minor changes to semantic models as needed
• Make minor changes and updates to existing reports as needed
• Document report development processes for business contingency purposes
• Maintain semantic model documentation, including data sources and table relationships
• Maintain an index of all active reports, including data lineage, purpose, and audience
• Maintain reporting changelog
• Provide backfill support for ongoing team work as needed

Requirements:

• • 3+ years' experience in a data or business intelligence focused role
• • 3+ years creating BI dashboards and reports with a focus on data visualization and storytelling with a high proficiency using Power BI
• • 3+ years writing SQL queries for data mining
• • 3+ years' experience collecting and documenting business requirements
• • Experience with Financial reporting a plus
• • Intermediate proficiency with Power BI:
• • Understand how to navigate semantic models
• • Understand/create dynamic measures using DAX
• • Power Query for data sourcing/transformation
• • Row-level security implementation
• • Calculation groups
• • Data visualization
• • Intermediate level proficiency with SQL (T-SQL):
• • Standard select queries
• • Joins across multivariate datasets including multiple keys
• • Data normalization
• • Window functions and methods
• • Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Applicants must be authorized to work in the US without the need for sponsorship
• • Mortgage experience highly preferred
