Sr. Business Intelligence Reporting Analyst (Power BI)

Mutual of Omaha Mortgage is seeking a Sr. Business Intelligence Reporting Analyst to enhance their Power BI reporting environment. The role involves creating impactful dashboards and reports to provide actionable insights for business leaders, while ensuring data quality and effective data transformation practices.

Responsibilities:

• Build effective and efficient reports and dashboards using best practices in data presentation and design language
• Migrate existing reporting inventory to a centralized semantic model
• Leverage Valtrune to complete full data and report validation
• Automate/streamline manual processes
• Use advanced SQL techniques and multi-stage transformation methodologies to normalize, cleanse, and standardize inconsistent datasets
• Infer and establish relationships between disparate data sources and systems of record to support unified reporting and analytics
• Transform raw source data into reporting-layer-ready objects, including the creation of synthetic keys derived from non-standardized attributes
• Update semantic models to support new reporting needs
• Monitor model efficiency and implement changes as needed to optimize performance
• Identify pertinent trends to share with leaders
• Proactively dive headfirst into data to offer deeper insights into high/low performing KPIs
• Document report development processes for business contingency purposes
• Maintain semantic model documentation, including data sources and table relationships
• Maintain an index of all active reports, including data lineage, purpose, and audience
• Maintain reporting changelog

Requirements:

• 4+ years' experience in a data or business intelligence focused role
• 4+ years creating BI dashboards and reports with a focus on data visualization and storytelling with a high proficiency using Power BI
• 4+ years writing SQL queries for data mining
• Ability to independently understand data through business context, exploration, and logical connections
• Advanced level proficiency with Power BI: Building efficient semantic models
• Advanced level proficiency with Power BI: Understand/create dynamic measures using DAX
• Advanced level proficiency with Power BI: Power Query for data sourcing/transformation
• Advanced level proficiency with Power BI: Row-level security implementation
• Advanced level proficiency with Power BI: Calculation groups
• Advanced level proficiency with Power BI: Data visualization
• Advanced level proficiency with Power BI: Performance Analyzer
• Intermediate level proficiency with SQL (T-SQL): Standard select queries
• Intermediate level proficiency with SQL (T-SQL): Joins across multivariate datasets including multiple keys
• Intermediate level proficiency with SQL (T-SQL): Data normalization
• Intermediate level proficiency with SQL (T-SQL): Window functions and methods
• Familiarity with Databricks Data Warehouse a plus
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Mortgage experience preferred
