ROLE:
1. Strategic Financial Leadership
- Develop and execute the organization’s long-term financial strategy aligned with corporate objectives.
- Partner with the CEO and Board on business strategy, capital allocation, market expansion, and growth initiatives.
- Evaluate new business opportunities, strategic partnerships, acquisitions, divestitures, and joint ventures.
- Lead financial due diligence for strategic investments.
- Drive enterprise value creation through disciplined financial management.
- Develop financial policies that support sustainable and profitable growth.
- Serve as a trusted advisor to the executive leadership team on financial and commercial decisions.
2. Full Profit & Loss (P&L) Ownership
- Own enterprise-wide financial performance, including revenue, gross margin, EBITDA, EBIT, net profit, and cash generation.
- Drive revenue enhancement and profitability improvement initiatives across all business units.
- Establish financial accountability across functions.
- Lead monthly, quarterly, and annual business performance reviews.
- Monitor product, customer, channel, and regional profitability.
- Drive pricing strategies through financial modeling and competitive analysis.
- Ensure achievement of annual operating plans and financial targets.
- Identify corrective actions to address performance gaps.
- Balance growth investments with profitability objectives.
3. Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A)
- Lead annual budgeting, strategic planning, and rolling forecasts.
- Develop long-range financial plans aligned with business strategy.
- Perform scenario planning and sensitivity analysis.
- Evaluate business risks and opportunities through predictive analytics.
- Establish financial KPIs and dashboards for executive decision-making.
- Analyze business trends and recommend performance improvement initiatives.
- Monitor capital efficiency and return on investment.
- Support commercial and operational teams through business partnering.
4. Factory Finance & Manufacturing Excellence
- Provide financial leadership to manufacturing plants and operations.
- Drive standard costing, activity-based costing, and cost accounting practices.
- Monitor manufacturing variances including material usage, labor efficiency, overhead absorption, and production yields.
- Improve plant profitability through operational finance initiatives.
- Oversee inventory valuation and inventory optimization.
- Monitor scrap, wastage, rework, and production losses.
- Evaluate manufacturing productivity and capacity utilization.
- Support Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, TPM, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Lead financial evaluation of automation and capital expenditure projects.
- Develop plant-level dashboards covering cost, productivity, quality, and efficiency metrics.
- Strengthen inventory controls and warehouse governance.
- Support supply chain optimization and procurement cost reduction.
5. Accounting & Financial Reporting
-Ensure accurate and timely preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
- Maintain compliance with Indian Accounting Standards (Ind AS) or other applicable standards.
- Oversee consolidation of domestic and international entities where applicable.
- Ensure timely financial close and reporting.
- Strengthen accounting policies and internal financial controls.
- Coordinate statutory, internal, cost, and secretarial audits.
- Ensure high standards of financial transparency and governance.
6. Statutory Compliance & Corporate Governance
- Ensure compliance with the Companies Act, 2013 and all applicable rules.
- Oversee Board reporting, Audit Committee support, and governance processes.
- Ensure timely filing of statutory returns and regulatory submissions.
- Coordinate with statutory auditors, cost auditors, company secretaries, and regulatory authorities.
- Ensure compliance with corporate governance requirements and internal policies.
- Manage interactions with government departments and regulatory agencies.
- Oversee compliance with applicable labour, environmental, and industrial regulations that affect financial reporting and operational governance.
7. Taxation
- Lead direct and indirect tax strategy.
- Ensure full compliance with Income Tax, GST, TDS, customs, and other applicable tax laws.
- Develop tax-efficient business structures.
- Oversee tax planning and optimization initiatives.
- Manage tax audits, assessments, appeals, and litigation.
- Coordinate transfer pricing documentation and compliance where applicable.
- Build effective relationships with tax authorities and advisors.
- Monitor legislative developments and evaluate their business impact.
8. Treasury & Capital Management
-Develop enterprise-wide cash management strategies.
- Optimize working capital and liquidity.
- Manage banking relationships and financing arrangements.
- Lead debt restructuring and capital raising initiatives.
- Oversee foreign exchange exposure and hedging strategies.
- Monitor interest rate and liquidity risks.
- Evaluate dividend policy and capital allocation.
- Ensure efficient utilization of financial resources.
9. Internal Controls, Risk Management & Audit
- Establish a robust internal control framework.
- Strengthen enterprise risk management processes.
- Identify financial, operational, regulatory, and strategic risks.
- Develop fraud prevention and investigation mechanisms.
- Oversee internal audit planning and execution.
- Ensure timely closure of audit observations.
- Implement governance frameworks that promote accountability and transparency.
- Lead business continuity and crisis management planning from a financial perspective.
10. Commercial Finance & Business Partnering
- Partner with Sales, Marketing, Operations, Procurement, HR, and Supply Chain functions.
- Support pricing decisions and commercial negotiations.
- Analyze customer, product, and channel profitability.
- Evaluate contract terms and commercial risks.
- Support procurement through supplier cost analysis.
- Improve working capital through optimized receivable, payable, and inventory management.
- Enable data-driven decision-making across business functions.
11. Digital Finance & Transformation
- Lead finance digitalization initiatives.
- Drive ERP implementation and optimization.
- Implement business intelligence and analytics solutions.
- Improve financial reporting automation.
- Standardize financial processes across locations.
- Introduce robotic process automation (RPA) where appropriate.
- Strengthen cybersecurity controls related to financial systems.
- Promote data governance and master data integrity.
12. Investor, Banking & External Stakeholder Management
- Build and maintain relationships with investors, lenders, analysts, and rating agencies.
- Present financial performance to the Board and shareholders.
- Lead lender negotiations and covenant compliance.
- Support fundraising activities, including equity and debt.
- Coordinate financial due diligence during transactions.
- Represent the organization before regulatory authorities and external stakeholders.
13. Leadership & Organization Development
- Lead and build a team of high performing diverse Financial professionals
- Develop succession plans and leadership capability.
- Coach and mentor finance professionals.
- Promote a culture of ethics, accountability, and continuous improvement.
- Drive cross-functional collaboration and organizational effectiveness.
