Sales Development Representative - Contract

Whimstay is a growing travel startup with a booking platform designed for travel professionals. The Sales Development Representative role focuses on building relationships with travel agents, facilitating quote requests, and assisting with bookings to drive revenue for the company.

Responsibilities:

• Work through a prioritized contact list, targeting approximately 50 travel agents per day, with emphasis on quality conversations and actionable outcomes rather than voicemails left
• Confirm each contact's details and agency affiliation, and learn about their client mix and booking volume
• Offer quotes, booking help, team account setup, and training scheduling on every call
• Send short follow-ups by email or text with resources, quote requests, and calendar invites
• Dial log every call, note, and outcome in HubSpot
• Escalate technical issues and larger opportunities to our internal team lead
• Send a brief weekly summary: outcomes, common questions, and objections you are hearing

Requirements:

• 1+ years in phone-based sales, inside sales, customer success, member services, or travel agency support
• A warm, professional phone presence and the ability to build rapport fast with experienced professionals
• Curiosity about the person on the other end. The best calls here are consultative, not scripted
• Clear, quick written follow-up
• Comfortable working inside a CRM and a cloud phone system. We use HubSpot and will provide logins and a short onboarding
• Full-time availability for the length of the contract, plus reliable internet and a quiet place to call from
