Assistant Project Manager

Salas O'Brien is an employee-owned engineering and professional services firm focused on achieving impact for clients and the world. The Assistant Project Manager will support the expansion and implementation of Quality Assurance programs across clean energy initiatives, driving quality standards and stakeholder collaboration.

Responsibilities:

• Lead the development, documentation, and maintenance of Quality Assurance program documentation, including manuals, policies, procedures, and related operational materials
• Partner with internal stakeholders to create, update, and maintain standard operating procedures (SOPs) that support quality assurance activities across multiple clean energy programs
• Gather information from subject matter experts and translate operational practices into clear, effective documentation
• Identify opportunities to improve consistency, efficiency, transparency, and effectiveness across QA programs
• Serve as a liaison with utility partners and participate in recurring meetings to discuss contractor performance, quality trends, inspection findings, and program alignment
• Support the development and launch of new quality assurance initiatives, including operational processes, workflows, and administrative structures
• Assist in the design and implementation of QA approaches for emerging clean energy technologies and programs, such as electric school bus charging station inspections and related initiatives
• Contribute to the development of solicitations, scopes of work, procurement documents, and related quality assurance materials
• Collaborate cross-functionally to support contractor oversight, program quality, and continuous improvement initiatives
• Manage project-related activities, including coordination, documentation, tracking deliverables, and meeting deadlines
• Maintain professionalism, confidentiality, and attention to detail when handling program documentation and contractor performance information

• Perform other duties as assigned to support the key outcomes of the Quality & Market Standards team

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree is preferred, Associates will be accepted with 3 years of relevant experience
• One to three years of relevant experience in quality assurance, program administration, project coordination, or a related field
• Experience supporting quality programs, operational processes, or standards development
• Ability to develop and maintain policies, procedures, manuals, and standard operating documents for internal and external stakeholders
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, organization, and judgment skills
• Ability to identify practical solutions and adapt to changing priorities
• Strong relationship-building skills with the ability to work effectively across diverse teams
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Strong customer service orientation and stakeholder management skills
• Ability to manage multiple tasks independently and meet deadlines
• Experience with data entry, reporting, and business process improvement
• Ability to communicate with customers, vendors, and project stakeholders to obtain required documentation
• Knowledge of renewable energy technologies and development processes
• Experience supporting contractor management, quality assurance inspections, technical assistance, or program compliance initiatives
• Experience with the following systems is preferred: Salesforce, SharePoint, Tableau, SiteCapture, NEIS or similar contract management systems
