Lead Software Enginee

Stanford Contracting is a company focused on delivering structural steel projects, and they are seeking a Lead Software Engineer for a part-time, remote position. The role involves designing and maintaining digital solutions, collaborating with teams, and mentoring engineers to enhance software performance.

Responsibilities:

• Designing, developing, and maintaining back-end systems and tools used for project management, engineering workflows, and data integration across business functions
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather requirements
• Architect scalable solutions
• Ensure reliable, secure software performance
• Reviewing code
• Mentoring other engineers
• Enforcing best practices in software development
• Contributing to continuous improvement of internal platforms
• Assist in evaluating new technologies and automation opportunities that improve productivity, quality, and collaboration within the organization

Requirements:

• Strong foundation in Computer Science, including data structures, algorithms, and software design principles
• Proficiency in Software Development and Programming, with experience delivering production-quality applications
• Hands-on expertise in Back-End Web Development, including APIs, databases, and server-side frameworks
• Solid understanding of Object-Oriented Programming (OOP) concepts and application in modern software architectures
• Experience leading engineering initiatives, performing code reviews, and mentoring team members
• Ability to work independently in a remote setting, manage part-time schedules, and collaborate across time zones
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field; equivalent practical experience will be considered
• Familiarity with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, or similar) and CI/CD practices is beneficial
• Experience in construction, engineering, or industrial domains is an advantage but not required
