Business Development Lead – Staffing and Engineering Services

Sapphire Stream Technology (SST) is seeking a Business Development Lead to generate revenue by selling staffing solutions and engineering services across North America. This individual-contributor role will focus on acquiring new customers, expanding existing accounts, building a strong sales pipeline and closing profitable business.

Responsibilities:

• Meet assigned revenue, gross-margin and account-growth targets
• Identify and acquire new customers requiring staffing or engineering services
• Build relationships with engineering leaders, hiring managers, HR, procurement and vendor-management teams
• Understand customer hiring and engineering needs and recommend appropriate solutions
• Sell contract staffing, direct-hire, project-based and managed engineering services
• Develop proposals, pricing and commercial solutions with SST’s recruitment, engineering and delivery teams
• Lead contract negotiations and close new business
• Expand existing accounts by identifying new projects, departments and hiring requirements
• Maintain an accurate sales pipeline, revenue forecast and customer information
• Report sales activity, results, risks and next actions to senior management
• Follow SST’s pricing, contracting, confidentiality and information-security requirements

Requirements:

• Five or more years of business development or sales experience in staffing, engineering services, IT services or related professional services
• Proven record of generating revenue, acquiring customers and meeting sales targets
• Experience selling contract staffing, direct-hire or project-based engineering services
• Ability to develop customer relationships, qualify opportunities, negotiate contracts and close deals
• Understanding of staffing rates, markups, gross margins and service pricing
• Strong communication, presentation, negotiation and account-management skills
• Ability to work independently and collaborate with recruitment, technical and delivery teams
• Bachelor's degree in business, engineering, computer science or a related field, or equivalent relevant experience
• Experience selling both staffing and engineering-service solutions
• Experience in the automotive, semiconductor, embedded software, AI or technology sectors
• Experience working with onsite and offshore engineering-delivery teams
• Established relationships with potential customers in North America
