Regional Account Manager / Technical Sales Specialist

Herbstreith & Fox is a leading German manufacturer of pectin, dietary fiber, and apple extracts serving the global food, beverage, and nutraceutical industries. They are seeking a Regional Account Manager / Technical Sales Specialist to support and grow their business within the assigned territory, focusing on customer relationship management and strategic account development.

Responsibilities:

• Manage customer and prospect inquiries within the assigned territory
• Serve as the primary point of contact for assigned accounts, fostering long-term customer relationships
• Grow existing business while identifying and developing new sales opportunities
• Develop and execute strategic account plans to achieve territory growth objectives
• Negotiate pricing, supply agreements, and commercial terms with customers
• Provide technical support during product development, formulation, scale-up, and commercialization activities
• Coordinate customer projects with internal teams including Customer Service, Planning, Quality, Regulatory, and Applications
• Resolve customer issues promptly while ensuring a high level of customer satisfaction
• Maintain accurate customer records, opportunities, forecasts, and activity reports within the CRM system
• Monitor territory performance and provide regular sales forecasts and market intelligence
• Forecast and monitor key account metrics to ensure growth and performance
• Conduct customer visits, technical presentations, and product demonstrations
• Attend industry trade shows, conferences, and networking events to identify and develop new business opportunities
• Stay informed of market trends, competitive activity, and emerging technologies within the food and nutraceutical industries
• Stay current on industry developments through educational events, professional publications, and participation in relevant industry organizations

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree required (Food Science, Business, Marketing, Communications, or related field)
• Minimum of five (5) years of experience in the food industry, including product development, commercialization, and professional sales
• Proven expertise in driving sales growth and building strong customer relationships
• Experience creating customer-focused solutions based on individual client needs
• Excellent listening, negotiation, presentation, and communication skills
• Strong verbal and written communication abilities
• High level of business acumen with exceptional organizational and time-management skills
• Ability to work independently while thriving in a collaborative team environment
• Willingness to travel throughout the assigned territory as required
• Master's degree preferred
