Project Manager -- Electrical Engineering Consultant

Sargent & Lundy is a power industry engineering and consulting firm. The Project Manager will lead and execute consulting work related to the development, financing, and execution of power generation projects, managing project teams, budgets, deliverables, proposals, and client interactions.

Responsibilities:

• Develop consulting project execution plan to meet client’s needs
• Reviewing deliverables such as reports and studies
• Lead project team by providing clear instruction including technical approaches
• Manage hours and work performed to budget and scope
• Develop staff expertise through training and mentoring
• Prepare proposals for consulting project opportunities
• Supporting multiple projects simultaneously while ensuring a high quality standard is met
• Traveling occasionally to visit project locations and client offices

Requirements:

• This position requires a Bachelor's degree in electrical, mechanical, or civil engineering (other engineering disciplines or finance/economics may be considered) with 15 or more years of experience in the power industry, including:
• Owner's engineer, independent engineer, and/or design engineer experience for development and execution of power generation
• Experience managing teams of engineers
• Experience and technical knowledge in multiple power generation technologies – solar, battery energy storage, wind, and thermal
• Experience performing feasibility studies for power projects
• This is a remote/virtual position. Candidate can be based anywhere within the United States.

• Experience in long-term power supply and transmission planning projects is a plus
• Experience in project finance or financial modeling of power projects is a plus
• Experience with project contracts such as power purchase agreements, asset transfer agreements, and EPC contracts is a plus
• Prior experience in a consulting role is a plus
