Social Media Specialist for High-Profile Event Marketing (6-Month Contract)

Ona Media Company is seeking a social media specialist to support an upcoming high-profile, invite-only event. The role involves growing the client's social media channels from scratch and developing content collaborations with high-profile individuals to build visibility and anticipation for the event.

Responsibilities:

• Build and grow social channels from the ground up across Instagram, X, and other relevant platforms
• Propose and manage content collaborations with high-profile individuals connected to the event
• Own the monthly content calendar from concept through creative direction
• Draft and publish all content
• Partner with our creative team to produce platform-specific, engaging assets
• Monitor and manage community engagement across channels
• Deliver monthly performance reporting with insights and recommendations

Requirements:

• 3-5 years of professional social media experience
• Proven experience growing channels from zero, not just maintaining existing ones
• Comfort and professionalism working with high-profile individuals and sensitive, exclusive brand positioning
• Strong creative instincts - able to generate interest and buzz around something intentionally exclusive
• Excellent writing and content creation skills across short and long-form formats
• Experience building and executing content calendars end-to-end
• Analytics fluency and experience delivering clear, actionable monthly reports
• Chicago-based strongly preferred; fully remote considered for the right candidate
