Remain informed of new developments in the contractual legal area and apply that knowledge in duties and in discussions with attorneys.

Prepare and submit, according to procedures, authorities, Request for Proposals, Contract documents, status reports, close-out documents and all other contract related paperwork.

Process incoming inquiries and make appropriate referrals.

Track and maintain contract history and account budget using AS400.

Certifies the Law Department's vendor invoices for payment.

Updates and tracks a variety of electronic and paper files, records, reports, and related documents; maintains file integrity and confidentiality by adhering to department policies and procedures; assures the accuracy of the electronic and paper filing systems.

Sorts and codes paperwork according to established department guidelines.

Enters contract information and other data into computer system; accesses and locates information for customers, staff, authorized agencies and others.

Researches files to obtain requested information, inserts additional data, and checks accuracy.

Complies, updates and maintains statistical information, reports and related documents.

Provides information and assistance within the scope of designated authority.

Cover for Law Office Manager when she is out of office. To include supervising support staff and assisting the Borough Attorney and Assistant Borough Attorneys.

Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Knowledge of Borough policies and procedures.

Knowledge of the basic principles of record keeping, case files and records management.

Skill in drafting and completing accurate reports, legal documents and technical correspondence.

Knowledge of specialized computer software applications.

Knowledge of the principles of contract management.

Skill in leadership, coordinating staff, and delegating tasks and authority.

Supplemental information

Associate's degree in law, business, computers or other related field; OR

Two years of administrative or business experience in contract creation, preparation, and execution.
