Product Manager

RevPilots is seeking a market-facing product leader to drive continuous market discovery and customer engagement for their client. The role focuses on understanding customer needs, validating product concepts, and shaping product direction through external conversations and market insights.

Responsibilities:

• Own continuous market discovery
• Maintain a high weekly cadence of customer, prospect, partner, expert, and win/loss interviews
• Join relevant sales, implementation, pilot, customer-success, and roadmap conversations
• Understand how target customers acquire, normalize, analyze, and operationalize agricultural data today
• Identify users, champions, technical evaluators, economic buyers, blockers, alternatives, and buying triggers
• Look beyond feature requests to uncover the underlying workflow, business problem, risk, or desired outcome
• Build an advisory network our client can use to test ideas, prototypes, and positioning quickly
• Turn market evidence into product direction
• Synthesize conversations into clear problem statements, workflows, affected personas, business value, and supporting evidence
• Distinguish one-customer requests from broadly recurring market needs and scalable product opportunities
• Assess opportunities based on frequency, severity, urgency, strategic fit, differentiation, and willingness to pay
• Partner with Product and Engineering to shape requirements without prematurely prescribing solutions
• Bring direct market evidence into roadmap decisions and help our client determine both what to build and what not to build
• Validate product concepts with the market before our client makes significant investments
• Own segmentation and positioning
• Discover potential new segments, ideal customer profiles, buyer personas, use cases, and value propositions
• Develop specific positioning for our client's API, data lake, Performance Analytics, data-quality capabilities, and developer tools
• Translate technical capabilities into outcomes that matter to each market and persona
• Understand the internal tools, manual processes, consultants, point integrations, and competing platforms customers use instead of our client's product
• Test messaging in real conversations and revise it based on market response
• Build practical commercial assets such as discovery guides, use-case narratives, objection handling, competitive battlecards, sales decks, and campaign messaging
• Establish a consistent system for capturing insights from direct research with prospective customers
• Provide recurring, concise market-insight reports that explain what our client learned and what should change
• Equip Sales to better target, qualify, and communicate with priority buyers
• Help Marketing use the language customers naturally use to describe their problems
• Partner with the Sales Engineer to determine which workflows and outcomes technical demos should prove
• Maintain close alignment among what the market needs, what Sales communicates, and what Product builds

Requirements:

• 5+ years in product management, product marketing, customer discovery, market development, strategy, solutions consulting, or a similar market-facing role
• Demonstrated skill conducting customer and prospect interviews and uncovering underlying problems
• Experience translating qualitative research into product priorities, positioning, or commercial recommendations
• Strong command of segmentation, ideal customer profiles, personas, positioning, messaging, and go-to-market strategy
• Ability to communicate credibly with executives, technical teams, product leaders, and operational users
• Exceptional synthesis, writing, facilitation, and presentation skills
• Commercial judgment, including the ability to distinguish curiosity from urgency and willingness to buy
• Enthusiasm for spending most of the week in external conversations
• Experience in agricultural technology, agricultural inputs, insurance, finance, agronomy, farm-management software, APIs, analytics, or data infrastructure
