Principal Mechanical Engineer – Data Center Design - Mission Critical

DLB Associates is an engineering firm with a Mission Critical Department focused on hyperscale data centers and critical facilities. The Principal Mechanical Engineer will produce mechanical design documentation, support pre-construction and construction activities, manage project documentation, and use AI and digital tools to improve efficiency and quality in a fully remote role.

Responsibilities:

• Assist in producing mechanical engineering documents, including design tasks, calculations, AutoCAD and Revit drawings
• Support pre-construction activities by surveying, data collection, and preparing project documents
• Participate in construction activities such as reviewing shop drawings, responding to RFIs, and project closeout
• Prepare progress reports and manage project documentation
• Leverage AI and digital tools to improve efficiency and quality
• Complete tasks accurately, on time, and within budget

Requirements:

• -Minimum of three years mechanical engineering experience
• • Knowledge of mechanical systems design, codes, and specifications
• • Familiarity with DDC controls, electrical systems for HVAC, and fire protection devices
• • Skilled in MS Office and design software (Revit)
• • Ability to perform load and ventilation calculations and size ductwork and piping
• • Strong communication and organizational skills to work effectively remotely and in teams
• • Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines
• • Willingness to travel up to 10% within the U.S
• Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering plus a minimum of three years mechanical engineering experience
