Position Summary

The Network Engineer will support the design, implementation, and maintenance of secure enterprise networking environments across on-premises and cloud infrastructures. This role requires strong Cisco networking expertise, hands-on experience with enterprise firewalls and cloud networking, and a solid understanding of federal cybersecurity frameworks. The ideal candidate will possess an active Secret Clearance, be comfortable working directly with customers, and be able to support onsite operations in Vienna, VA.

Required Experience

• 4 7 years of experience in network engineering and/or security engineering.
• Hands-on experience with Cisco networking technologies, including:
• Catalyst switches
• Nexus switches
• Routers
• IOS-XE
• Experience maintaining both on-premises and cloud-based network infrastructure.
• Hands-on experience with enterprise firewalls, specifically:
• Palo Alto Networks (Required)
• Cisco Firepower (Required)
• Experience working in cloud environments such as:
• Microsoft Azure
• Amazon Web Services (AWS)
• Experience with cloud networking components, including:
• Virtual Networks (VNets)
• Network Security Groups (NSGs)
• Route Tables
• AWS Direct Connect
• Experience supporting Azure Government or AWS Government environments.
• Working knowledge of Zero Trust Architecture principles.
• Understanding of federal security frameworks, including:
• NIST 800-53
• FISMA
• FedRAMP
• Experience performing software and firmware upgrades.
• Strong troubleshooting skills for complex networking and security issues.
• Experience interacting directly with end users and customers.
• Ability to work onsite Monday through Friday.

• Experience with Zscaler technologies, including:
• ZIA (Zscaler Internet Access)
• ZPA (Zscaler Private Access)
• Policy configuration and management
• Integration with Zero Trust Architecture

• One or more of the following certifications:
• CCNA
• CCNP
• CompTIA Security+
• CompTIA CySA+
• Microsoft AZ-700
• Microsoft AZ-500
• Zscaler Certified Cloud Professional (ZCCP)
• Palo Alto Networks Certified Network Security Engineer (PCNSE)

Day-to-Day Responsibilities

• Design, configure, and maintain enterprise network and security infrastructure across on-premises and cloud environments.
• Support cloud migration initiatives and hybrid connectivity solutions.
• Implement and enforce security policies aligned with federal compliance standards.
• Troubleshoot network incidents and participate in change management activities.
• Perform software and firmware updates while resolving complex technical issues.
• Provide technical support to users and customers.
• Develop and maintain network architecture documentation.
• Support Authority to Operate (ATO) and security assessment activities.
• Provide after-hours and weekend support when required.
