Business Analyst Sr

The Senior Business Analyst transforms data into actionable information, supports business processes and reporting, and collaborates with customers and stakeholders to address complex business needs. The role also leads or supports analytics projects, process improvements, IT solutions, and business reporting initiatives.

Responsibilities:

• May lead project team assignments of moderate scope requiring expert technical skills or good understanding of business functions. Coaches, mentors and trains team members
• Key member of business analytics team requiring expert technical skills or good understanding of business functions. Documents the reporting process; works collaboratively with team members
• Responds under short turnaround times to provide data and answer detailed questions on data and trends
• Effectively educates end users on what reports mean by telling the story behind the report
• Develops, delivers, and maintains quality IT solutions to support business processes, in line with IT guidelines and architectures
• Balances clients' business requirements and preferred technical architecture. Recommends creative and innovative solutions to business or technical problems. Provides client support for operation systems consistent with service level agreements (SLA's). Ensures work is technically sound and in compliance with established quality and timeliness standards
• Simplifies or eliminates low value-added work processes
• Takes active steps to increase understanding of client's business environment, priorities and processes, and emerging technology issues
• Delivers analysis/reporting product and support while managing clients’ expectations. Interfaces with customer and other departments to ensure project objectives are achieved. Interacts with vendors on routine testing matters
• Analyzes and identifies core business processes for application design
• Communicates issues openly, honestly, and timely with peers, management and customers
• Prepares and presents new initiatives to senior leadership to help obtain buy-in and support
• May work with vendors to clarify and resolve tool/software functionality issues
• Participates in the definition, implementation, and execution of best-practices
• Regular and reliable attendance is required

Requirements:

• U.S. Citizenship
• Must be able to receive a favorable Interim and adjudicated final Department of Defense (DoD) background investigation
• 3 - 5 years' experience in a Business Analyst or data analysis role
• Increasing involvement in moderate to complex projects
• Experience with process flow documentation and design
• Ability to influence or persuade others under positive or negative circumstances; adapt to different styles; listen critically; collaborate
• Ability to function in a multi-system Microsoft environment using Word, Outlook, TriWest Intranet, the Internet, and department software applications
• Resiliency in adapting to a variety of situations and individuals while maintaining a sense of purpose and mature problem-solving approach is required
• Critical thinkers with ability to focus on things which matter most to achieving outcomes; commitment to task to produce outcomes without direction and to find necessary resources
• Ability to manage large amounts of complex information easily, communicate clearly, and draw sound conclusions
• Prioritize and manage actions to meet changing deadlines and requirements within a high volume, high stress environment
• Ability to solve problems through systematic analysis of processes with sound judgment; has a realistic understanding of relevant issues
• Understanding of system/process engineering concepts; ability to fully understand business functions and need, priorities, processes and emerging technology issues
• 2 - 5 years' experience in a healthcare environment
• TRICARE Analyst experience
