Senior DevOps Engineer

ECS is seeking a Senior DevOps Engineer to support the Department of Homeland Security. The role focuses on optimizing AWS and GitLab cloud platform services, designing and implementing sustainable solutions, collaborating with engineering teams and stakeholders, and providing technical leadership across cloud and infrastructure efforts.

Responsibilities:

• Continuously optimize AWS and Gitlab cloud platform services across all integration points
• Interact closely with key project stakeholders to design, plan, and implement operationally sustainable solutions
• Work closely with the engineering team to deliver proposed solutions
• Provide thought leadership across engineering efforts
• Problem-solve technical challenges as they arise and adjust solutions based on discoveries or new requirements

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in a related field
• U.S. citizenship required
• Ability to pass a Public Trust investigation
• Bachelor's degree in a relevant field
• Minimum of 10 years of related experience
• Related experience demonstrating a broad background in:
• • Cloud services
• • Infrastructure automation
• • DevSecOps
• • Open-source ecosystems
• • Application programming
• • Service-oriented architecture
• • Enterprise architecture
• Deep working knowledge of cloud development platforms, including:
• • IT operations, virtualization, and containerization
• • Networking and storage
• • Disaster recovery
• • Security policy and controls implementation
• • System management and data migration
• Strong awareness of current industry trends in application and cloud architectures
• Significant expertise in public, private, and hybrid cloud technologies (IaaS, PaaS, SaaS)
• Proficiency in Linux and Docker
• Strong written and oral communication skills and excellent client-interaction skills
• Cloud certifications (e.g., AWS Solutions Architect, AWS DevOps Engineer, GCP Professional Cloud Architect, Etc.)
